Common questions

My reminders or timer alarms aren't going off

Almost always one of these two, in this order:

1. Notifications aren't allowed. Open Profile → Notifications. If the banner is red, tap Allow notifications. There's a Test alarm button on that screen — lock your phone and press it to hear exactly what a timer will do.
2. The phone is putting Ayumu to sleep. On Android — Samsung especially — battery optimisation can stop alarms firing on time. Go to Settings → Apps → Ayumu → Battery and set it to Unrestricted.

Also check your phone isn't on silent, that the notification volume isn't at zero (it's separate from media volume), and that Do Not Disturb is off.

Does the timer keep running if I lock my phone?

Yes. Focus, meditation and workout timers are anchored to the clock, not to the app being open, so you can lock the phone, switch apps, or close Ayumu entirely and the time still counts. When it finishes, a bell rings and keeps ringing until you open the app.

My verification code hasn't arrived

• Check your spam or junk folder — first messages from a new sender often land there.
• Codes expire after 10 minutes. Use Resend code for a fresh one.
• Make sure the address has no typo. Use a different email lets you start again.

I've forgotten my password

On the login screen tap Forgot password?, enter your email, and we'll send a six-digit code. Enter it with a new password and you'll be signed straight back in.

Who can see my progress photos?

Only you. They're kept in private storage and the app fetches them through links that expire after about an hour. They are never public, never shared with other users, and deleting a photo removes the file itself — not just the entry.

What do other people see?

Your journals, photos, weight and logs are private. Friends you add see your dream name, XP and streak. If you join the leaderboard (it's off until you do), other users see your dream name and XP. Nobody sees your real name or email.

How do I report or block someone?

Tap ⋯ next to them in Friends or on the Leaderboard, then choose Report or Block. Blocking works straight away: they disappear from your friends and leaderboard, and can't send you requests or cheers. They aren't told. We review every report within 24 hours. You can unblock people in Profile → Blocked people.

Does Savings connect to my bank?

No. You type every number yourself, and Ayumu never asks for bank, card or account details. Savings stays private: it never appears on your scorecard, the leaderboard or to friends, and notifications never show an amount. Export it any time from Profile → Data. Its plans and tips are general guidance worked out from your numbers, not financial advice.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything in it, including photos, and cannot be undone. If you can't sign in, follow the steps on the delete account page.

Is Ayumu free?

Yes. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Is there an iPhone version?

Yes. Ayumu is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
